Questions

What can I make with it?

Lyric videos, quote and text posts, and caption tracks to drop over footage in your editor. Each subtitle shows for its own time, its words spread evenly across it.

How do I key out the green?

Put the video on the track above your footage and add a chroma key: Chroma Key in CapCut, Ultra Key in Premiere Pro, Keyer in Final Cut Pro, 3D Keyer in DaVinci Resolve. Pick the green with the eyedropper (it is #00B140) and the captions sit on your shot.

Black or green?

Green keeps the black outlines on the words once you key it out. Black is simplest for a lyric or quote video as it is, or set the layer to Screen in your editor to drop the black (the outlines go with it).

Which size should I pick?

1080p or 720p for YouTube and most edits, 9:16 for TikTok, Reels and Shorts, 1:1 for square feed posts. Match your project so the captions land where you expect.

How long is the video?

From 0:00 to the end of your last subtitle, so it lines up with the footage the subtitles came from. There is no sound: add your audio in the editor.

Which files work?

SRT, and VTT, ASS, SBV or JSON subtitles too. Drop the file or paste the text. Old files saved in other encodings are read as well.

Is my file uploaded?

No. Nothing is uploaded. Your browser draws every frame and makes the MP4 on your device.
