Questions

How do I find the right offset?

Play the video, note when a line is spoken and when its subtitle shows. The difference is your offset. Subtitles late? Move them earlier.

What if the subtitles drift more over time?

That is a frame rate mismatch, not an offset, so one shift will not fix it all. Shift to fix the start, then fix the rest in the SRT editor.

Does it keep my format?

Yes. An SRT comes back as SRT, a VTT as VTT, and so on.

Is my file uploaded?

No. Nothing is uploaded. The file is read and converted by your browser, on your device. It even works offline once the page has loaded.
