Questions

Which audio files work?

MP3, M4A, AAC and WAV. Other formats may open too, depending on your browser. If yours won't, the page says so: save it as MP3 or M4A and try again.

How good is the transcript?

Clear speech with one voice at a time comes out best. Loud music, cross talk and heavy echo cost words. Names and jargon can come out spelt wrong, so give it a quick read.

Why does the first run take longer?

The first time, your browser downloads the speech model once. After that it starts right away.

Which languages work?

Close to a hundred. It detects the language by itself. If it guesses wrong, pick the right one and it listens again.

Is there a length or daily limit?

No. No daily cap, no length cap, no sign up. Your own device does the work, so a long file just takes longer. Keep the tab open until it is done.

Is my audio uploaded?

No. Nothing is uploaded. Your browser listens to the file and writes the text on your device, so voice notes and private calls stay private.
