How exact is the cut?

To the frame. Type the start and end to a hundredth of a second, or nudge a handle with the arrow keys (Shift jumps a whole second). Press Play the cut to check it before you export.

Does it lose quality?

Barely. The kept part is encoded again at your video's own bitrate, up to 8 Mbps, so it looks like the original at a normal viewing size.

My video has no sound. Will it work?
